'Doei Girls is a rather moody track. “Doei girls!” Is dutch for “Bye girls!”. The girls you hear in the background where chatting in the park across the road on a warm summer evening when I was working on this track. When I heard them I decided to record them and use the sound as a natural background, exactly the way I heard them in my room. It also set the theme of this track: girls growing up and leaving their homes. I have three daughters so you can imagine it’s an emotional thing for me. Love you girls, don’t leave too soon!'
